TEST SPECTATOR REVIEW 10/8 MEMORIAL DAY
The only issue we had with the tournament is that the refs basically didn't call any fouls. At this level, when the players realize that they aren't going to call fouls playing gets rough. There were major obvious fouls by us and against us and there was no call. They should do better and keep the playing reasonably rough, not accessively rough.
Smooth tournament without any issues I saw. All of our games started relatively on time. Having the trainers around an available was a nice touch and appreciated. We ended up playing 3 teams we have never played before so that is always a bonus when entering local tournaments, sometimes 2 of the 3 teams we play are in our same SLYSA division.
We had two great crews! One crew though didn’t check in either team, didn’t check player equipment and didn’t meet with captains before the game. Just gave the ball to the away team. Anyone could have jumped on a roster and no one would have been any wiser.
The fields were great and competition was good! We had some great refs the first two games. Called things evenly and fairly. The last ref made some really questionable calls.
